Japan: Courts and Culture, The Queen’s Galleries

Anotherform was invited by Stanton Williams Architects to collaborate on the exhibition design of the display of the Royal Collection’s archive of Japanese objects. Many of the exhibition in the exhibition being gifts from Japan and gifts from Britain to Japan, it shows the long standing connection between the two nations.

The exhibition was designed within the classic spaces within the Queen’s Galleries, situated within Buckingham Palace. The design took influence from Japanese black lacquer furniture and objects, transforming the spaces, while presenting the objects on clean white backdrops and plinths.
